Ah, to be 3.
For Joe's birthday, I am going to try and make a 3D cake. I did a dry run the other day to get the feel for carving an eggless cake and making/rolling fondant and getting it on the cake. I think the experiment went fairly well. The pictures here are not great and the car looks very odd since I didn't color any of the fondant. Once I get farther along, I will being to color the fondant and that will make it look much more like a car. I also made some characters, just to see how hard it was. I attempted to make an elephant and giraffe. The elephant looks more like Jar Jar Binks from Star Wars and Tim thought the giraffe was a hippo. I thought it looked like a cow. Again, I need to color the fondant and then they will begin to look sort of like the animals they are supposed to be. I am really enjoying this learning process.
"Elephant"
I love this hat. Love it.
Guess who can walk!!!!
Carrie and I try to take an annual trip. We missed the last three years so we wanted to make this trip especially special. Therefore, we went to Vegas. Even with a complete lack of partying, we had a terrific time.

The new sun hat and some time outside:
Our lovely neighbors have two kiddos, Rory and Andrew. They are both pros at scooters. They were nice enough to let us borrow the beginner one for Josiah to play around on.
Charlotte really, really wants to walk. Badly.
Last Sunday, we headed to the Denver Aquarium. I have never seen any sort of "zoo" at that speed before. It seems that Josiah has taken the "come on, Joe" to heart. We stopped for 10-15 seconds at each different tank and then Joe said, "Come on, we have to keep going". The only place we stopped for awhile was the thunderstorm area where several hundred gallons of water come pouring out of the wall (we waited at least 1 minute for that). We did stop about 45 minutes for lunch. It was the most expensive lunch I have ever had. Note to self: take more crackers to the Aquarium.
Enjoying our "expaaaaansive" lunch (or yunch as Joe says)
Charlotte has learned how to crawl into Joe's chair. She loves it and claps for herself the entire time she sits in it. Sometimes she gracefully gets out of the chair and sometimes we need to give some hugs and kisses. She will need her own chair soon. In the meantime, Josiah is being a trooper about "sharing".
